What a treasure you are about to create - a keepsake trunk filled with memories of Sarasota's past! Create keepsakes of such notables as John & Mable Ringling, Bertha Honore Palmer and the Sarasota Opera House, then line the inside of your partially completed wooden trunk kit with an elegant Beaux Art wallpaper, finish the exterior. Fill your 1" scale trunk with postcards, love letters, jewelry, artwork, sheet music of the era, hints of clothing and accessories, even a bust of Queen Victoria and sculpture of the Young David! Students will learn to work with paper, paint and fabric to make a memorable addition to your collection. You'll even use a scanner and copier to reduce personal photos or paper ephemera!

MOLE END ½" SCALE ~

Jill's charming interpretation of the children's classic, "Wind in the Willows" , is recreated here in ½" scale in an open book. Mole is working hard on his spring cleaning chores, up on his ladder whitewashing the ceiling. Mole's garden and doorway are on the book's exterior with his charming little home inside. Learn faux wood graining, stonework and more. The garden with willow tree, sun medallion, doorway, bell pull and "Mole End" plaque are included in the workshop. THE DOG HOUSE SHOP ¼" SCALE

Love Dogs? Make Karen's new two-part laser cut shop, consisting of a Front Exterior Box and an Interior Box that is removable from the back. All materials are provided to finish the shop as shown. Make assorted chocolate goodies including a chocolate fountain & dippers (bananas, cherries, brownies , French bread and grapes), a chocolate torte with raspberry mousse, nutty chocolate brownies, cheesecake with chocolate drizzle…and cakes, including a German chocolate cake! Pans & bowls included. Some polymer clay foods will be pre-made and ready to use due to length of class.

MAGIC OF THE DRILL PRESS

The emphasis is on drill press techniques but students will also cut/shape wood for a project, (but not assemble it in class ) learning to cut perfect circles, molding dados, rabbets, inlays, mortise and tenons (plus learn what all these words mean!) For all who cringe at the sound of an electrical tool, take a deep breath and let Tom teach you drill press techniques. Students will leave with a whole new skill set for miniatures.
